Well-Being at Work: Tech Companies Seen as More Fulfilling by Employees

As Workplace Quality of Life Week (June 16–20) nears and VivaTech kicks off on June 11, Great Place to Work has unveiled its list of the top 50 tech companies to work for in France.

Tech Employees Report Greater Happiness

This year’s recognized companies include Adobe, Cisco, HumanSkills, SNCF Connect & Tech, Wavestone, Figma France, Kraken Technologies, Sightness France, and Smart Teem.

According to recent surveys, including Great Insights 2025 and the Trust Index, employees in the tech sector consistently report a more positive experience than those in other industries:

  • 64% of tech employees say they are happy at work (vs. 55% in other sectors).
  • That figure jumps to 91% in companies labeled “Great Place to Work in Tech.”
  • Employees feel valued, equipped, and supported.
  • 7 out of 10 cite unique benefits, and nearly 90% enjoy high-quality workspaces and tools.

Leadership Quality Sets Tech Apart

  • 90% of tech employees in top companies say managers are approachable and open to dialogue—that’s 35 points above the national average.
  • 8 out of 10 describe their work environment as healthy, compared to just over 50% nationwide.

Better Pay and Fair Profit Sharing

  • Only 4 in 10 French workers are satisfied with their salary overall.
  • In top tech companies, 7 in 10 report satisfaction with compensation.
  • Profit sharing is also considered fair, a rarity outside tech.

Still, talent retention remains a challenge:

  • 62% of tech employees say they plan to stay long-term (vs. 57% overall).
  • But that’s still well below the 82% seen at the top 50 tech employers.

Skills Development and Autonomy

Top tech firms go beyond material perks:

  • 80% say training programs are genuinely useful (vs. 47% nationally).
  • 92% feel trusted by their managers (vs. 56% in other industries).
  • These companies are often leaders in equity and inclusion.

A Sense of Purpose and Responsibility

  • 63% of tech employees say their work is meaningful—10 points above the average.
  • 69% are engaged with corporate social responsibility (vs. 56% of French workers overall).

Data Sources

  • Online survey by Toluna for Great Place to Work – December 2024 (4,000 French professionals)
  • Trust Index 2024 survey – 26,433 employees across the 50 awarded tech companies

Some of the 50 Companies Recognized:

More than 250 employees:

  • Adobe, Meritis, SNCF Connect & Tech, Cisco, Mirakl, Sqorus, Consultys France, NXP Semiconductors, TeamWork, Equinix...

Less than 250 employees:

  • Apgar, Beelix, Cadence, Cod4is, DataDome, EBS Group, Figma France, Filodoxia IT, Ikighia, Kraken Technologies, and more.

Tech continues to lead in workplace satisfaction—now it’s time to make that culture the norm, not the exception.
